Searchable cards lets you make your digital business card discoverable on Google and other search engines, so people can find you by searching your name, company, or job title.

How it works

When you turn on searchable cards:

  • Your card page is marked as indexable, allowing search engines like Google to crawl and list it in search results.
  • Your card is added to Lynkle's sitemap, which helps search engines discover it faster.
  • Over time, your card may appear when someone searches for your name, job title, or company.

When searchable cards is turned off (the default), search engines are told not to index your card. Your card is still accessible to anyone with the link, but it won't appear in search results.

It can take days or weeks for search engines to index a new page. Turning on searchable cards doesn't guarantee immediate visibility in search results.

Enabling searchable cards

  1. Go to the card editor for the card you want to make searchable.
  2. Scroll to the Visibility section.
  3. Toggle on Searchable card.
  4. Save your card.

To stop your card from appearing in search results, toggle Searchable card off and save. Search engines will remove your card from their index over time.

Searchable cards and private card sharing

Searchable cards and private card sharing cannot be enabled at the same time. If private card sharing is on, the searchable card toggle is disabled.

This is because private card sharing restricts access to your card using expiring tokens, which is incompatible with search engines needing open access to crawl and index your page.

To make your card searchable, turn off private card sharing first.

If your subscription ends

Searchable cards requires an active Lynkle Pro or Teams subscription. If your subscription lapses:

  • Your card is removed from Lynkle's sitemap.
  • Your card page is marked as non-indexable, telling search engines to stop listing it.
  • Search engines will remove your card from their results over time.

Your searchable card setting is preserved, so if you resubscribe, your card will become searchable again without needing to re-enable it.
